Jonquel Jones was named MVP as Team Spoon defeated Team Coop 129-122 in the WNBA All-Star Game in Chicago. Jones, a 32-year-old New York Liberty center, finished with 22 points, 13 rebounds and eight assists. The WNBA celebrated its 30th season with its first All-Star Game in Chicago since 2022, played before a record crowd of 19,783 at the United Center. Team Spoon had eight players score in double figures; Allisha Gray scored 19 and Caitlin Clark had 17 and five assists while going 5 for 15 from beyond the arc. Nneka Ogwumike scored 11 points and passed Maya Moore (119) to become the All-Star Game’s all-time leading scorer. Kelsey Mitchell led Team Coop with 28 points and Marina Mabrey scored 23, all in the first half. The teams were drafted by Cynthia Cooper and Teresa Weatherspoon and coached by Becky Hammon (Cooper’s team) and Cheryl Reeve (Weatherspoon’s squad).
