Brent crude tops $95 amid US strikes on Iran
According to @itep.org, the typical American households has spent an extra $468 on gas since the start of Trump's Iran War. Overall, people in the U.S. have paid $62.5B more to the oil industry, to date, since prices began to rise. This is all happening due to the whims of one man.
$3 is starting to feel cheap, and that’s the point. It’s engineered inflation.
Great news for the oil companies. They’ll report record quarterly profits again…🤨
Trump tarrifs nee car Americans paid an extra $1600 on avg
and, of note, the domestic oil industry's costs have not changed, so this is all profit.
It's not. The whole GOP is going along with this. W/o them, T wd just be a deranged man wandering around alone.
Feeling the pinch? Most people are. And I believe the American people are beginning to connect the dots- to Trump and his forever war for OIL. Just ask your friends- were you better off two years ago?
Brent Crude has just risen again, to $94 a barrel. Trump’s now threatening heavy strikes on Pickaxe Mountain, a heavily-fortified site linked to Iran’s nuclear program. No end in sight.
Iran has always maintained its nuclear program was for peaceful reasons and the Obama agreement enforced that. With Trump’s War, hardliners are now saying Iran needs nukes as a deterrent. 1/2
It was $65 a barrel when this started...
mataphor US "ending the war" bsky.app/profile/lind...
The perverse incentive of this war making his Venezuelan oil theft more valuable means he really is not incentivized to end it. Yes - pain at the pumps may well lead to huge losses at the midterms for Republicans but he really likes money. Really really likes money.
Disaster if Trump remains in power for much longer
You are going to have to pull him down. He doesnt understand politics or war. He's living in a bubble where he , his family and friends can profit.
The US president’s threat comes amid a flare-up in the nearly five-month conflict that has driven oil to $91 a barrel. Goldman Sachs has warned Brent crude could soar to $120 if the Strait of Hormuz remains ‘disrupted’ by the fourth quarter of this year. ft.trib.al/VLgim2r
Wait…have we been punked?! Thought they said it was obliterated…😑
Add to that the US oil reserves are the lowest theyve been in over 20 years, and Trump is pissing off Canada, the largest foreign supplier of inexpensive crude oil for the US to refine... Expect things to get FAR worse before they even come close to starting to get better.
Threat of the week from donald trump, strategic genius.
