Two US service members were killed and one remains missing after Iranian ballistic missile and drone attacks in Jordan on Friday, US Central Command said. Centcom said four US service members were medically evacuated to Jordanian hospitals and have since been discharged, and others with minor injuries returned to duty. US military officials did not disclose the identities of the dead, the circumstances of the incident, or where in Jordan the attack took place; Centcom said it will withhold additional information until 24 hours after next of kin have been notified. Jordan’s military said it intercepted 10 Iranian missiles fired into its airspace overnight, and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps claimed it destroyed at least two US fighter aircraft early Saturday on Al-Azraq base, a report Centcom declined to expand on when contacted by the BBC. The announcement raises the US death toll in the conflict to 16 after an earlier US Navy pilot was declared dead this month; the US Department of State issued an advisory urging Americans in the region to monitor news and exercise increased caution.

They are dead because of Donald Trump. To this day we never got a coherent explanation for why the President illegally attacked Iran in the first place (vague muttering about "Israel made us" or "nuke-u-lur" doesn't count), and we still have no strategy for getting back to the status quo.
