F1 drivers to ride Lego minicars in British Grand Prix parade

Formula 1 will stage a drivers' parade at Silverstone in which each driver will pilot one of 22 LEGO minicars, F1 announced. The minicars will run a lap of the circuit during the Drivers' Parade on Sunday at 13:00 local time, with F1 advising fans to watch live across its social channels. Organizers framed the stunt as a return of LEGO to the track and a twist on the two-seater Miami event by giving every driver a minicab. The British Grand Prix weekend also features a Sprint race on Saturday and the main Grand Prix qualifying later in the weekend, so the LEGO parade is positioned as a novelty spectacle around the race schedule. Comment and photos shared by on-site visitors note added bumpers on the minicars and expectant chaos when the cars converge on the parade lap.
