The Ottawa Senators selected Swedish right winger Jonas Lagerberg Hoen with the 25th overall pick in the 2026 NHL Draft. Lagerberg Hoen missed almost the entire season with a knee injury, appearing in only seven games, but worked out at the draft combine before selection. Corey Pronman described him as a tall, fast, highly skilled goal scorer and said the league rates him highly despite the missed year. Scouts and commentators noted his last full junior season produced 27 goals and three assists, underscoring his scoring pedigree. There was chatter he might slip outside the first round, but Ottawa took the high-risk, high-reward prospect at 25, adding another Swedish player to the draft class that included multiple Swedes taken on Day 1. The pick leaves Ottawa with a projected upside option up front while carrying medical and development uncertainty stemming from the knee injury.
