Watched Supergirl Compared to her cousin, Supergirl's newest film feels fairly generic but has its moments with some of its action scenes and the performances of Milly Alcock and especially Jason Momoa but the plot and writing is as basic as it gets for a superhero movie

SUPERGIRL: Millie Alcock should sue Craig Gillespie. Some of the worst action editing I have ever seen. Cool aliens, ugly colors. Lobo pops in a couple of times for no good reason. Big reshoot vibes w/ 3rd act. Alcock is wonderful but the movie fails her badly.

The Supergirl movie didn't do a "girl power" thing at all. It focused on Supergirl's character development, her origin story, and had a good message in the end. And there was no plot holes and the movie stuck to the plot. DC is really stepping up their game with these newer movies.

No matter what you think of #Supergirl the sexist bombardment on Milly Alcock and attaching that sexism to the *insistence* that the movie should bomb is atrocious. Again think what you will of the movie but you can't deny it's been a disgusting aspect of the reaction in those internet corners.

!!NON-FISHING POST!! I don't post about movies, like, ever, but I just got out of Supergirl and I gotta say, it was perfect, exactly what I wanted from a Supergirl movie! It genuinely helped me with recent grief, too, which was nice. Would recommend 100%!!

Unfortunately Supergirl didn't spend the entire runtime pooping her pants in the new Supergirl movie 😔😔😔

I really enjoyed this movie. Milly Alcock is a great Supergirl. Her story was told well. All the actors played well off of each other. Jason as Lobo was truly meant to be. DCU is on a great path. Loving this new universe.

Supergirl was a really wonderful movie. Definitely the best one Kara has gotten to be in — which is, well. But it’s a good movie and not just a not-bad movie. (And not The Flash.) I wish they’d let us spend more time with the characters. The movie SPRINTS. Alcock did really, really great.

mixed reviews and all, it's unlikely that the new Supergirl movie is as bad as the '80s one--but then, the new Supergirl movie won't have a slumming, visibly drunk Peter O'Toole in it, so it's kind of wash.
