Yeah, as a young trumpeter in those days, I just loved that jazz-rock fusion sound, and DCT's voice was perfect when they were at their peak. Their led trumpeter had some good chops too. Also, loved the bookend tracks of "Variations on a theme by Erik Satie" on their second album.

Amazing vocals. My favorite horn band in 70's. Difficult challenge but sang "You Made Me So Very Happy" for my wife at her birthday party 2 years ago. Our adult daughter shed tears at end. When I asked me dear wife later her response, "You were kind of flat & off-key." Gotta love a vocalist wife.

I heard BS&T with him singing at the Fillmore East in Dec 1969. Allman Brothers were the lead in band. Good times.

Probably have told this story before. In late 60's when I was FA w/Eastern AL based at JFK, BS&T were on one of my flights. Polite & friendly, they spent quite a bit of time in rear Lav. The smoke was so thick, people in last row were getting high! Everyone was super-chill about it all. RIP David!☮️✨

At the age of 14 my second concert was Blood Sweat and Tears at Lisner Auditorium Washington DC 2/1969. This was just before the release of their second album which sent them to superstardom. My girlfriend’s parents took us.
