Timberwolves acquire LaMelo Ball for Naz Reid and draft assets
Wow...Shams just reported that LaMelo Ball is being pursued by multiple teams and he could be traded within the next couple of days. This is going to be a crazy summer!
Stein says the Wolves and Raptors have interest
I get that it may be a net positive move, but if we continue being bad to mid, throwing our entertainment value out the door is going to be monumentally painful
Legitimately curious why Charlotte would consider trading him after the second half the team had. Concern that he will never be healthy and cannot be counted on?
Can’t be serious teams. Maybe Sacramento? New Orleans?
I want Lamelo Ball and Cade Cunningham to play basketball together so bad…
Wow, league changing moves coming…
I'd definitely expect the Timberwolves to make a push here, as Marc Stein and Jake Fischer reported their initial interest.
The Hornets are weird. But also thank God the Kings already got their point guard
The Raptors interest makes a lot of sense. But if I were a Hornets fan coming off last season and see my best player get traded for Immanuel Quickley, additional salary and picks I’d be pretty pissed.
BREAKING: The Charlotte Hornets are trading star guard LaMelo Ball and Josh Green to the Minnesota Timberwolves for Naz Reid, a 2033 unprotected first-round pick, three first-round pick swaps (2028, 2029, 2030) and three second-round picks (2029, 2032, 2033), sources tell ESPN.
The timberwolves trading Naz is actually insane
TC might need to find a new job. Unless Rudy is on the move next for 2-3 playable bigs, this is absolute ass. Naz Reid is a cult hero in Minnesota. All that for a guy who plays like he has AirPods in and is a risk to public safety on the roads??
Not a fan. All that for Ball? He has only played over 55 games twice in his career. Shot selection is crazy sometimes. Defense is questionable. For Naz and all of those picks? I'm convinced Tim Connelly is terrified of the draft. Now they need a 4 as well. I want to be optimistic, but damn.
LaMelo Ball seeing the gas peddle when he hops in his Lamborghini
Timberwolves, what is you doing?
The Wolves repeating the Jazz's mistakes of leaving Gobert on an island is gonna end well I'm sure.
Sorry to Minnesota but this is tremendous content
Apropos of nothing, goofy that you can trade a pick seven years into the future
Btw the pick swaps likely won't mean too much. The Hornets, barring an unforeseen turnaround (or faceplant by the Wolves which is very possible too I guess), will likely have higher draft picks the next few years.
Trading 2033 picks shouldn't be allowed. Wtf is the value of those? Future picks are just NFTs if they're more than 3 years out imo. But the player swaps here are bananas. This is still big.
my immediate take on this is it rules that the wolves are now consistently in the mix for stuff like this instead of being bottom feeders
LaMelo Ball runs over W*ll St*ncil's car in his Batmobile, causes "Worst Discourse Ever"
Lamelo Ball driving in that Minnesota snow 😂
Who did the Wolves trade for?
I guess the Hornets got too close to the playoffs for their liking? Very odd timing.
Honestly rather have Ayo as my starting PG.
Goodbye to LaMelo Ball, who enjoyed riding a go kart on the roof of his condo building in Charlotte
he’s going to buy a snowmobile
Literally the guy who owns the penthouse beneath the rooftop where Melo’s doing donuts is … Michael Jordan www.ncrabbithole.com/p/charlotte-...
Level 100 10th prestige upstairs neighbor
I wonder what kind of insurance discount we'll all get since the streets will be safer
That kart better sprout wings, transformers-style…
Minnesota I don’t think you understand what a special player you’re getting
Man, y’all are gonna have so much fun teaching him how to do donuts in the snow
LaMelo Ball is going to be so happy when he learns about the Minneapolis Skyway System
He will enjoy having a snowmobile Anyone unfortunate to be near him at that time will be in grave danger
the way this post is worded i thought it was in memoriam and he was about to drive off the roof
i would also enjoy this

Wolves should sign LeBron James.
If it makes you feel better, I saw someone said the Hornets had the best 4-player net rating in the NBA last season with LaMelo, Knueppel, Bridges, and Miller.
Pistons will gladly take Ant off your guys' hands, finally completing my dream backcourt I accidentally envisioned during 2018 2k18 Pistons tank simulations in dynasty mode
How to Talk to Your Children About the Naz Reid Trade
I texted my daughter earlier
but seriously. my 8 year old is going to be despondent.
My daughter is going to switch allegiance to the Wizards. Despite thinking that Trey’s hair is an atrocity.
How many people in Swift County do you think know who Melo Ball is?
My kid freaked out and then we told him about LaMelo Ball and he was like okay I’m better now
here’s what i will say- from an objective, basketball quality standpoint, it is pretty insane to turn naz reid into lamelo ball
i love naz reid and i hope he will continue to develop and have all the success in the world but we just upgraded several tiers of player quality at a position we desperately need
I feel like it will take about 5 games for everyone to get on board with this. It's going to rule.
Naz is forever Minnesota but getting Lamelo for him and basically 1 first rounder and 3 seconds is a no brainer
My other thought is that Naz might have some injury concerns that factored into the decision. I love Naz and it was rough late in the season when he was hurt.
Ball Edwards back court will be nuts. But they keep trading away the wrong center? I guess he doesn't have a lot of trade value given his bad hands and huge contract.
This the correct take. I just don't like LaMelo as a person. Not nearly Miles Bridges and his ilk level dislike, but his wreckers driving and the circus with his dad is a ROUGH hang.
It's a vibes catastrophe but the basketball. Oh, the basketball.
objectively an enormous down grade name-wise though
Love Naz Reid, but this feels like a brilliant trade if we want to compete at the highest level. Naz had stretches of looking really good when KAT was out, but has had too many incredibly frustrating bad games (often in the postseason or near it) that I'm ecstatic about this trade 🫣
The Timberwolves and Raptors have emerged as two of the teams with trade interest in Charlotte’s LaMelo Ball, league sources tell @jakelfischer.bsky.social and me. More to come …
Glad Detroit isn’t in on this. Birmingham streets are already nuts after dark without his insane driving.
@thesteinline.bsky.social what is the Hornets motivation to trade him? Haven’t seen anyone mention yet why they would want to trade their best player after the teams best season in years. Can you enlighten us?
Robert Harrington's been mayor less than a week and the streets are already safer.
LaMelo and Ant is a level of unseriousness that the league isn’t ready to deal with.
Why would we trade LaMelo right now? We just had our best season in a decade
This would be the wolves most unserious season lmao
Him driving on the Minnesota streets with 20 inches of snow would be national crisis.
It's going to be the Timberwolves. Canadian traffic law would destroy LaMelo's prime.
LaMelo and Ant bringing the absolute worst out of each other>>>
My apologies to the drivers and pedestrians in Minneapolis.
One indoor professional sports franchise in the Carolinas wins championships, knows what it's doing and works to keep its fans excited and entertained. The other is the Charlotte Hornets.
If LaMelo becomes a Raptor my mom is going to crash out fully
getting rid of Naz Reid to bring in LaMelo Ball is a vibe downgrade of the highest order
ant is gonna strangle him at mid court by thanksgiving
I’m sure LaMelo and icy roads won’t be a problem at all.
That's what I'm saying. Naz is one of the best small ball 5's in the league. How'd you look at your roster and figure "yeah, lets trade Naz", seriously?
Naz Reid goaltended at Rupp in 2019. I will never forgive him, but thank him for creating the goaltend replay/review rule.
