Elizabeth Warren says Trump‑era mega‑mergers could be reversed

Senator Elizabeth Warren said the "frenzy" of mega-mergers approved during the Trump administration could be reversed, warning of a "tsunami of anger" that might prompt future administrations to undo recent deals. Warren made the comments in an interview with The Guardian, arguing large corporations have "mowed through one industry after another" and driven up prices. She said reversal could come through stepped-up antitrust enforcement, executive actions, and lawsuits brought by federal regulators or state attorneys general seeking divestitures or other remedies. Warren urged Congress to tighten merger rules and regulators to treat concentrated market power, including private equity and algorithm-driven advantages, as legitimate antitrust targets. If pursued, her approach would put high-profile recent media, telecom, and other industry combinations at legal risk and could trigger new legislative and enforcement campaigns if Democrats regain control of the executive branch.
