Mexico beat Czechia 3-0 at Estadio Azteca to complete a perfect 3-0-0 group stage and finish top of Group A. Santiago Giménez opened the scoring and Mexico kept their third consecutive clean sheet, having shut out South Africa and South Korea earlier in the group. Goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa came on as a 78th-minute substitute to make his sixth World Cup appearance, and South Africa’s win over South Korea sent South Africa through to the Round of 32 alongside Mexico.
