Haberman and Swan's new book outlines fresh Trump‑era revelations
Regime Change, by Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan, lays out new inside accounts from Donald Trump’s second administration. The book recounts a November 2024 Oval Office exchange in which Trump told President Joe Biden, "It’s terrible what they put your son through," without addressing his own attacks on Hunter Biden. Haberman and Swan also describe Trump dismissing warnings that Iran could close the Strait of Hormuz and detail advisers’ alarm as he pushed to expand his power. These specifics matter because they illuminate Trump’s motives and decision making on national security and legal risk during his second term.
TONIGHT: Maggie Haberman and @jonathanswan.bsky.social talk to @lawrenceodonnell.bsky.social about their new book, "Regime Change: Inside the Imperial Presidency of Donald Trump," which covers the first year of Trump's second presidency. Tune in to The #LastWord at 10pm ET.
I dare you to ask them why they hold important information like this for a book deal instead of releasing it immediately for the benefit of our country?
Love Lawrence and the show, but cannot stand Haberman and don’t care for more people having vital information and keeping it to write books.
I hope you ask them why they held the information for their book instead of reporting it in real time.
ASK WHY THEY HELD IMPORTANT INFO FOR PROFIT !!!! Come on Lawrence YOU can do that!
They know a lot more damaging stuff about Trump like so many others, but they hold it while knowing so many are suffering from his policies and lies for money.
Ask Maggie and Jonathan why they can’t publish this in the NYT and instead put it in a book? Oh right…..profits before truth. I’ll never buy any reporters’ book that won’t publish it in the paper first.
Love the show and never miss it, but that picture hurts the eyes!
I will not watch. Lawrence should know better than to platform her behavior . She is Trump adjacent
Lawrence, make sure they know we are NOT happy they withheld important and newsworthy information just to include in their book.
Just appalling that Lawrence is helping these two assholes promote this book. They are NOT journalists. Real journalists publish the news they discover immediately and do not hold on to it so they can sell books. Sorry Lawrence you just lost a viewer.
You can't let Haberman say Trump won overwhelmingly this time compared to 2016, he did not! The swing state margin for the EC in 2016 was 47,000 votes. In 2024 it was 110,000 votes. In 2020 78,000 votes The electorate is 50-50 with a razor thin margin for the Trump just barely won in 2024 again
This Maggie Haberman? Another MSM hack who helped normalize Trump and is now making the rounds peddling a book? No thanks.
Nice. On the eve of the book release

ignoring @lawrenceodonnell.bsky.social should not be platforming these reporters, who have failed country in baldfaced money grab # @markjacob.bsky.social @newsjennifer.bsky.social @jayrosen.bsky.social @jfallows.bsky.social @espiers.bsky.social @jilldlawrence.bsky.social bsky.app/profile/them...
Great interview with Maggie Haberman and Johnathan Swan. Gotta get their book
TALK ABOUT THIS! OUR ELECTIONS!! NOTHING IS MORE IMPORTANT!! EVERYTHING ELSE IS A DISTRACTION FROM STEALING OUR ELECTIONS! SEROUSLY! substack.com/@levparnas/n... HOW could you give Maggie Haberman a platform? She had CREDIBLE info that could have helped Epstein Survivors, but sat on it for MONEY!
What a major disappointment to see that you gave your show over to two gossip columnists. I changed the channel.
The book by Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan of The New York Times, “Regime Change,” reveals a host of details and surprising exchanges as President Trump pushed to drastically expand his power. #Pinks www.nytimes.com/2026/06/18/u...
Haberman and Swan can fvck off. Do they think they're heroes now? They waited to release critical details so they could profit from a book. While EVERYONE is suffering. Twats.
Maggie Haberman is the Linda Tripp of journalism.
Why do we always have to wait for a book to come out to expose our president’s regime moves? So infuriating anymore.
