Sally Nugent presses Nigel Farage on BBC Breakfast over £5m gift
On BBC Breakfast, presenter Sally Nugent pressed Nigel Farage about a £5 million payment from Thailand, asking whether it had been declared. The interview grew terse as Farage repeatedly refused to answer Nugent’s questions and became visibly agitated. Nugent’s questioning centered on whether the £5 million should have been reported to the Electoral Commission and whether it relates to his political activities. The exchange matters because Farage is a high-profile political figure, and a £5 million payment raises legal and transparency questions about campaign finance and public trust.
Nice to see Farage getting his arse handed to him in a rare live interview by Sally Nugent this morning. “Nobody cares about the £5m” “The electoral commission do” 😆
Also pulled him up on the hypocrisy of calling for a general election.
I care about massive bribery and corruption in our politics and I'd bet that most of the electorate does too.
I expect he regrets crawling out from under his rock today.
If I've every heard one "Boris Johnson got a paid too" was a man on the ropes reply. Shame is wasn't pointed out that Johnson also lost his job and resigned due to his corruption.
Sally Nugent holding Farage's feet to the fire on BBC Breakfast. Well done Sally.
I’ve muted him, can’t bear it. The voice, the bobbing of the head, yuk.
If there was any justice it would have been a red hot poker to his rectum.
Oooh he’s really angry! Just turned it back on - she’s brilliant isn’t she!
Dam missed it. Glad she did.
She’ll probs get removed soon
credit to Sally Nugent who just, in normal circumstances, brought Nigel Farage's political career to an end. If polls don't plummet after this, I will be truly astonished.
I'm no body language expert, but, is that not a "I Surrender" gesture?
Just an observation. But he never talks to male journalists like that.
Sadly his base, just like Trump's, don't see anything wrong with grifting. They know they would do likewise if they had the chance; and far from being upset about it, seem to be impressed with it.
