He’s earned a chance to be an NBA head coach, so I hope he does well. Seems like a good guy. But man, after how Portland treated Splitter (and the rest of their operations department), I hope he gets the resources he needs to be successful.

Per sources, Knicks assistant coach T.J. Saint will be head coach of the summer league team in Las Vegas. Also hearing all the young guys on the championship roster (except, maybe third-year guard Tyler Kolek) will be playing.

Micah Nori got his start as an intern for Butch Carter's Raptors in 1998-99 and has been an NBA assistant coach for a quarter-century. He finally gets this long overdue opportunity but it just so happens to be with the penny-pinching Blazers. He deserves better than one-year deal.

Micah Nori put in work and is highly respected within the NBA. His reported contract with the Portland Trail Blazers - 1 yr guarateed - is puzzling but not puzzling. After too many interviews that go nowhere, longtime assistants tend to take the first offer, even if it's not ideal.

Happy for Micah Nori, really liked him when he was an assistant in Sacramento. Hope the crappy owner doesn’t torpedo the opportunity too bad.

It is interesting that the Blazers did get someone I consider to be a good coach on a 1-year guaranteed deal by leveraging the low supply of NBA Head Coaching jobs (30) with the high supply of good coaching candidates (more than 30)
