Three-team trade sends Julius Randle to Brooklyn; Nic Claxton to Chicago

The Timberwolves traded Julius Randle and the No. 28 draft pick to the Brooklyn Nets, the Chicago Bulls received Nic Claxton, and Minnesota acquired Brooklyn’s No. 33 pick in a three-team deal. Brooklyn adds Randle, who spent two seasons in Minnesota, as a veteran frontcourt scorer and rebounder while also collecting a late first-round pick. Chicago acquired Claxton to upgrade rim protection and anchor its interior defense. Minnesota cleared significant salary and dropped below the luxury-tax apron, opening exceptions and cap room that lets the Wolves re-sign Ayo Dosunmu or pursue free-agent upgrades before draft night.
