Ubisoft co-founder Claude Guillemot dies in plane crash

Claude Guillemot, 69, a co-founder of Ubisoft, died Friday when a twin-engine Cessna 421 crashed near La Baule-Escoublac, France. The aircraft had departed Rennes and crashed in a field while on final approach to La Baule airport, killing Guillemot and the flight instructor aboard. Guillemot was one of the five Guillemot brothers who in 1986 helped found Ubisoft and helped grow the company behind Assassin's Creed, Far Cry, Rayman, and Prince of Persia. His death removes a founding figure from one of the world’s largest video game publishers and represents a sudden loss for the French and global games industry.
