Claude Guillemot, 69, co-founder of Ubisoft, died alongside a second person when a Cessna 421 crashed near the La Baule aerodrome in western France. The twin-engine aircraft had taken off from Rennes; both occupants were killed and a fire at the scene delayed identification. Guillemot helped build Ubisoft into a major game publisher and was instrumental in franchises including Assassin's Creed, Far Cry, Rayman and Prince of Persia, making his death a significant loss for the games industry.
