Ukrainian drones strike Kapotnya oil refinery in Moscow
On June 16 Ukrainian drones struck the Kapotnya oil refinery in Moscow's southeast, igniting fires while Russian air defenses engaged and Mayor Sergey Sobyanin reported no casualties. The attack set the ELOU AVT-6 primary processing unit ablaze and sent heavy smoke over the Kapotnya district. Kapotnya processes about 12 million tonnes of petroleum products per year and supplies roughly 35 to 40 percent of fuel for Moscow and the surrounding region. Coming after earlier May attacks on the same facility, the strike threatens Moscow's fuel availability and shows Ukraine can reach strategic energy infrastructure deep inside Russia.
Ukrainian drones have hit the Moscow oil refinery. It’s burning. This is a big one - the refinery provides 40% of fuel for Moscow and the wider oblast. #explodey
One of Russia’s largest fuel retailers Tatneft has just announced fuel rationing across its entire network. This is huge. The whole country is now facing shortages.
Oh, well, shit happens. I'm sure people in Moscow do not mind standing a few hours or days in line for there 20l fuel ration, why should they have it different then in other parts of the country? They love Putin? Surely nothing to worry about?
Effective targeting versus vicious lashing out against civilian targets. Putin’s hand is getting weaker and weaker.
Come on Russia, it’s time to warm up the orchestra.
Russia Kinda Explains Everything, In A Weird Way, If One Is Paranoid.
russia are clearly on the ropes. A relatively small country with just over half the population of the UK have nearly beaten them while redefining modern combat on all fronts💥 Wait for Comrade Trump to wade in (yet again) and say Ukraine should give russia what it wants "for peace"🤡🤬
The drones that struck the Moscow oil refinery today carried the message: “The Lavra will stand for centuries! Moscow will fall!”
For all that Russia has done, Ukraine has to hit big (I so wish it wasn’t needed, sad sad times)
Yeah but now he's beaten Iran Trump can now help the Ukraine situation 👍
These #explodeys are the bestest. :) Please more of that - the more the war gets carried into Russian territory the faster this shit might end.
Hit the Oligarchs where if hurts them most! 🇺🇦
Russia targets culture and history. Ukraine makes strategic choices.
Av some more of that putrid 🤣👍 #MuchoExplodey lol
Arrivals and departures in 2 Moscow airports are limited because of drones detected it’s 5:11 am in Kyiv and I haven’t slept at all because of Russian missiles and drones, so yeah, I am not very sad
Dead Russians don't invade other countries. I really want Russia to become unable to invade anywhere ever again.
Devastating news about the Ukraine heritage sites bombed. Always wrecked by the people lost. Its horrible. Afghanistan forced Russia back. Ukraine will too.
My friend Marat in Kyiv said it was a horrendous night, the Lavra attacked,on fire; all the neighborhoods exploding, Oreshniks, ballistic missiles, over 600 drones. For what? Stand w/UKR. Pray terrorist Putin's taken down.
🔥🛢️ Ukrainian drones struck the Moscow Oil Refinery today, with a fire currently burning at the facility following the attack. It processing capacity is approximately 11.6 million tonnes of petroleum products per year. The facility is estimated to supply around 40% of the fuel consumed in Moscow
/2. The moment strike drone hits the Moscow Oil Refinery.
Slowly and then all at once.
Here's hoping the smoke can be seen from downtown Moscow
Processing capacity *was* 11.6 million tonnes. They ain't getting that back. Not without moving air defence from Putin's datcha. Even then...
Usually, The burning torch is a sign that a problem occur on the process, the massive smoke on the back might be related to.
still operating unfortunately.. many more drones needed to obliterate it!
Another successful interception of a 🇺🇦 drone by 🇷🇺 air defense using one oil refinery to hit it out of the sky
Russians need to face reality. They started this war hoping that, far behind the frontline, they would be safe from it, but today the Moscow oil refinery is burning and nowhere is safe anymore 🔥
For russisn civilians the main risk is a pantsir hitting your apartment. Unless you work in an ammunition factory or a refinery of course.
Ukrainian’s did not start the war, but they have the hearts to finish it.
I won't be happy until I see the Kremlin burning.
Oh please put a drone right in the middle of the MIBC. Fly it through the front door of the Federation Towers. No need to explode - just land it in the foyer with a message on the side: “Leave Ukraine, Now! Or the next one will be Live” Follow the money.
Russians, unfortunately, are still suffering only 1/1000th of what they’ve inflicted on Ukraine for years. But yes, this bombing campaign inside Russia is heartening
As Putin would say: "Работайте, братья" ("Get to work, brothers"). 🇺🇦🇷🇺 Dozens of Ukrainian kamikaze drones are swarming Moscow's skies. Despite more than 300 layered air defense systems, Moscow's largest oil refinery has reportedly been hit.
. Skies ? Streets ! .
It is a monumental task ... The Mayor of Moscow reported that dozens of drones were shot down. Eyewitnesses reported air defense activity in Pavlovsky Posad, near Moscow; one drone was shot down over the town. Air defense activity targeting drones was also heard in Ramenskoye and Zhukovsky.
trump will not be happy about the boss being targetted.
Ukrainian drones struck the Moscow oil refinery early June 16, triggering a major fire and heavy smoke. The facility processes about 12.8 million tonnes of oil per year and supplies roughly 35-40% of fuel consumed in Moscow and the surrounding region. #Russia
I don’t think those fuel lines are going to get shorter any time soon.
Great reminder for me to donate to Ukraine through the U24 app.
So they are using refineries to intercept drones, now?
Refineries are huge but luckily you cripple them if you hit the few crucial points that actually keep it going.
And that's only the beginning!
For a massive industrial fire of this height (~30 to 40 meters), the distance where the radiant heat becomes completely unapproachable 1. specialized protective gear — high-intensity zone: 30 to 50 meters from base of fire column 2. standard clothing: 70 to 100 meters, depending on wind direction.
bring back chariots in Moscow just like in the good old days
Hopefully it will not be long before we see traffic queues at Moscow fuel stations 🇺🇦🇬🇧
Things are going to get very ugly in russia 👍
Very nice. Sad but necessary.
Another 2-3 strikes wouldn't go amiss.
Don't understand one word of the lyrics. Don't need to. That's hilarious!
🔥 While Kyiv was under a massive attack, fires were reported in Tula and the Moscow region At night in Tula, Russia, witnesses reported a major fire. The governor complained that drones had targeted commercial facilities.
A column of smoke was also spotted in the city of Reutov in the Moscow region. The causes were not officially specified, but witnesses enthusiastically talked about drones and explosions.
He should count his lucky stars the Ukrainian military does not treat invaders as the orcs treat the invaded.
