The Odyssey ticket rush briefly crashes AMC app as IMAX demand soars
Tickets for Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey went on sale June 4, and overwhelming demand for IMAX and 70mm screenings overloaded AMC's app, creating long online queues and error messages. IMAX unveiled a collectible popcorn bucket modeled on an IMAX camera, boosting interest in premium-format showings. The advance-ticket rush concentrated on IMAX 70mm and other large-format presentations, with select screenings slated for July 17, 2026 in Kodak 35mm. The scramble matters because it signals major box-office anticipation for Nolan's R-rated, big-budget epic and shows how premium projection formats and collectibles can strain ticketing systems.
The first popcorn bucket for ‘THE ODYSSEY’ is an IMAX camera.
So... nothing to do with the actual movie then?
This is the most Nolan-coded popcorn bucket I’ve ever seen
All this talk of popcorn buckets because of Dune Part 2.
I think it would be dope for a movie about movies but for this one that just comes off as supremely pretentious.
That doesn’t even make sense! There’s no IMAX camera in Homer’s “The Odyssey.”
should have been a helmet
... Oooookay? Why? That has nothing to do with the movie?
Does it work? At anything besides holding popcorn more or less as well as a 30 gallon paper tub?
I have been informed that the novelty popcorn bucket for The Odyssey is an IMAX camera and I cannot express how much I need this
The movies are back, baby!!
can’t wait to see that one fella get down and dirty with the IMAX bucket tbh 😌
I’m surprised Nolan didn’t insist on it being a functioning camera.
Shouldn’t it have been like a trireme or something? The odyssey happened a good 6,000 years before the advent of the IMAX camera
It’s available in the imax online store per the email I got today. (Which admittedly is less fun than getting it at theaters but)
