Microsoft unveils Surface RTX Spark Dev Box for local AI dev
techJun 2, 20263690
Microsoft unveiled the Surface RTX Spark Dev Box, a mini PC that runs Windows on Arm and uses NVIDIA's new Arm-based RTX Spark accelerators. The device supports up to 128GB of unified memory and delivers about 1 petaflop of AI compute, with demos showing 20 CPU cores and the ability to run roughly 120 billion-parameter models locally. Microsoft positions the dev box for local-first AI development so developers can prototype and run large models on-device to reduce cloud dependence, lower latency, and keep data local.
