Anthropic files confidentially for IPO, nears $1T valuation
Anthropic, the maker of the Claude AI models, confidentially filed for an initial public offering in the United States, the company said Monday. The filing values Anthropic at about $965 billion, placing the company close to a $1 trillion valuation after a recent major funding round. The Securities and Exchange Commission must complete its review before the offering can proceed, and the IPO would rank among the largest public listings by an AI lab, accelerating demand for specialized cloud compute and enterprise AI services.
We just learned Anthropic will file for a $1 trillion IPO. The path we are on is: AI makes a small number of people very rich, but millions lose work. That must change. Tax AI. Use the money to create jobs so unemployment doesn’t rise.
