Microsoft Surface Laptop Ultra announced with Nvidia RTX Spark
Microsoft unveiled the 15-inch Surface Laptop Ultra powered by Nvidia RTX Spark, pairing a 20-core CPU with a 6,144-core Nvidia Blackwell RTX GPU. The mini-LED PixelSense Ultra display reaches 2,000 nits peak brightness at about 262 ppi, and the machine offers up to 128 GB of unified memory plus 1 petaflop of on-device AI compute. The aluminum chassis includes USB-A, three USB-C ports, HDMI, an SD card slot, a haptic trackpad, and weighs under 4.5 pounds; Microsoft plans to ship it this fall. With desktop-class Nvidia silicon, high memory capacity, and extensive ports, Microsoft positions the Surface Laptop Ultra to challenge high-end MacBook Pro workstations and accelerate professional on-device AI and creative workflows.
$NVDA UNVEILS RTX SPARK SUPERCHIP — TARGETING WINDOWS PCs New AI chip for laptops and desktops. Ships this fall through Dell and Lenovo. First Nvidia push into Windows PCs at scale. Direct shot at Intel's stronghold. Announced at Computex Taipei by Jensen Huang.
And Trump bought shares just before the announcement, then procured Dell for government agencies. (Good luck with the security is all I’ll say…)
Is it only one who thinks they want to offload data center compute load onto everyone's PC? That way the public chip in on electricity prices etc...
Since Trump bought parts of Intel for the govt, do we now have to worry about the Feds undermining Nvidia?
Nvidia told me the RTX Spark scales from "low, low single-digit" watts all the way to 80W TDP. Does that mean it could appear in handhelds, too? That the company wouldn't say — but it's calling it the "most efficient PC chip ever built."
I wish this was a harbinger of nice Tegra things. Until we're back to normal and the "AI" marketslop craze is done, I have to assume this is only the nth time nVidia and Microsoft are trying to make nVidiARMdows a thing. It's not like they tried twice before...
love that gamernexus was immediatley before this in my feed
“The PC is being reinvented” - Nvidia announces new AI-focused RTX Spark chip for laptops as widespread doubt bubbles www.eurogamer.net/nvidia-rtx-s...
"The PC is being reinvented. For forty years, you launched apps. Click. Type. With RTX Spark and Microsoft Windows, you ask -- and the PC does the work” I rolled my eyes so hard that I saw my brain stem
Lol. I mean, I guess this is a reinvention, but it's definitely not an exciting sounding one.
Does anyone want this besides Nvidia? Something extra to suck power on small devices. One more thing to fight to disable….. ugh.
