The Archers, Natasha's private school push
In The Archers, Natasha Archer is moving to enroll her twins in private school after an Ofsted inspection raised concerns about their local state school. She says worries over standards and support at local schools are driving her to prioritise private education for the children. The decision complicates the family budget because Tom spent part of the twins' nest egg on legal bills, forcing them to balance schooling choices against limited resources.
Somehow Kate seems to be being a faaar better friend to Kirsty about this pregnancy than Helen is!! And somehow I’m surprised!! #TheArchers
I'm not, really. There's a fundamental warmth to Kate under all the flaky woo-woo. #TheArchers
Kate’s particularly fond of newborn babies though, isn’t she? I remember her cooing over Xander when he was a newborn. And we all know about the infamous taxi to Blackpool last year, to see baby Peggy. (Wonder if Jakob’s paid off the credit card bill for that yet?) 😁 #thearchers
I'm not at all surprised. Helen isn't a proper friend to Kirsty, their relationship is totally one-sided. #TheArchers
I was just thinking the same thing #TheArchers
FFS Tom. Just send your favourite to the private school and let the other one survive on their wits. #TheArchers
Are the twins identical? If so, just enrol one and send each one on alternate days. #TheArchers
BEST SOCIAL ENGINEERING EXPERIMENT EVER
I bet they would do that. Therefore ensuring that the contrast between how they turn out, will have Bleetalongers taking sides long after a fair number of us are in the Bleetalong in the sky or the place down below…depending on how we’ve behaved IRL. 😅 #TheArchers
I knew several people my age where siblings (not twins though) were split between state and private schools. I don’t know how it worked out for them. #TheArchers
There are probably wacko funded twin studies available for this very experiment. At 18 they get swapped. #TheÀrchers
My grandfather sent 1 son to private school and told the other 2 that they were not smart enough to be worth the fees. Son who did go became a Dr right enough and the other two did not do so well - but talk about a self fulfilling prophecy and as you can imagine didn’t do much for relationships.
Excellent solution. Do we know if the twins are identical? They could both have a crack at it. #TheArchers
I miss Jimmus. And Alastair, Denise, Joy, Mick, Lizzie, Lily, Vince, Freddie. And even Martin. Why does #TheArchers keep introducing fleeting new characters when they have a cast with great back stories already?
They'll come round again. Two of those on your list are returning in the next 3 weeks. It's always been the same with #TheArchers, though the lengths of disappearances may be getting longer. The more characters, the greater variety of storylines you can plausibly run. Absences are the trade-off
I agree with the point that you're making but... you miss Joy, Mick, and Lily?! Are you ok?? #TheArchers
I echo your thoughts about missing, much loved, cast members. And am also baffled by the giddying number of irrelevant, short lived characters, in whom we are not invested #TheArchers
I've been thinking about your list. Agree with some, but I wouldn't be bothered if we never hear from Mick or Vince again. We all have our own favourite characters & the SWs have to try to keep everyone happy. #TheArchers
Martyn is reappearing soon. #TheArchers
And what about the budgie??!! #TheArchers
