Claude Lemieux, 4-time Stanley Cup champion, dies at 60
Claude Lemieux, a four-time Stanley Cup champion and 1995 Conn Smythe Trophy winner, died at 60, the NHL Alumni Association said. Lemieux played 21 NHL seasons with six teams and tallied 80 career playoff goals. After retiring he worked as a player agent, representing clients including Hurricanes goaltender Frederik Andersen. His playoff scoring, physical style and Conn Smythe-winning 1995 run made him one of his era's most consequential postseason players.

I can’t believe Dino Ciccarelli shook that guy’s friggin’ hand.
Damn... He was the torch bearer in Montreal for game 3...
That's a tough one to hear and that's coming from a Detroiter. To young.
Will always be remembered for catching one of the worst, and most deserved, beatings on the ice.
And he carried the torch at the Bell Centre just the other night! Rest well warrior.
Did they send his brain to the CTE lab?
Boarding & cross checking calls are both at half mast
Condolences to all who loved him. 💔
Very sad news 💔 Rest in peace to Claude Lemieux, who carried the Habs torch at the Bell Centre on Monday. He was 60 years old.
This makes no sense, that was 3 days ago!
Woah.. incredibly surprising & sad, RIP. You never know what someone is going through, condolences to those close to him. Small thing, but I am glad he got to feel the roar of the crowd one last time.
Damn this one hurts as an Avs fan. Dude was legend and was awesome to see him with the torch. Go out and win the series in his memory!!
Very sad indeed. Of there is anything Kent needs to do this summer is find a CL clone. He is what we need.
Surreal, we saw him only a few days ago... 😱
Unreal. I don't want to make assumptions whether maybe they knew something we didn't or if this came out of nowhere
What!?!?!? Condolences to his family. 💔
So sad, so young :-(
What a playoff performer that man was. Rest in peace Claude, thanks for the wonderful memories you have left us with.
Damn that's young. 😬 One of the greatest Habs ever. #RIP32
Suicide deaths always hit me hard. The pain people suffer through is so tragic. As difficult as it may seem, call or text 988, or just walk into your local hospital and tell them you’re struggling. They will help you, and they will respect your privacy. It will just be between you and them.
Very sad Indeed. RIP Claude. You were one of the best players of my generation
Column coming up on the tragic death of Claude Lemieux, 3 days after he carried the torch into the Bell Centre for Game 3 of the series against the Hurricanes. I'll post here when it's up.
I played with him briefly in junior. He was already very reckless and self‑assured, to the point of having trouble assessing risks for himself and for others. His athletic abilities often hid a rather imperfect flip side. He never left anyone indifferent. RIP
Thanks, I’ll bring my box of tissues. 🥹
