The Witcher 3: Songs of the Past expansion announced for 2027
CD Projekt Red announced Songs of the Past, the third expansion for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, scheduled for 2027 on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The expansion is being developed in collaboration with Fool's Theory and will put Geralt of Rivia into a new standalone adventure. Songs of the Past follows the Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine expansions and arrives roughly 12 years after The Witcher 3's 2015 release. The DLC extends the game's late-career support with fresh story content and arrives before CD Projekt Red's next mainline Witcher title, giving players new material to explore.
Medallion's humming... that can only mean one thing! It's time to announce The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Songs of the Past! ⚔️
This brand new expansion for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will take you to the Path with Geralt of Rivia once more. It’s being co-developed with Fools Theory and is coming to PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5 in 2027. Stay tuned for more information in late summer. ⏰
CD Projekt on a Wednesday of no significance:
Nice that Bluesky got namedropped before Xitter. 😄
screaming crying shidding throwing up dying
Another round of Gwent 💗
hereto untold amounts of grumpy geralt if he has to come out of his retirement in toussaint to deal with another political intrigue.
A bit ahead of the planned announcement, but nonetheless -- solid strategic execution: - The day before their quarterly earnings release to anchor investor sentiment. - Fool's Theory working with REDengine to focus core teams on UE5. - Current-gen consoles and PC only.
@tncarly.bsky.social about to lose her mind.
Must be a bridge for W3 to Witcher 4. Hopefully we are going on an adventure with Ciri!
Thank you CDPR! You may have my wallet!
Just a casual drop on a random Wednesday
Hope this wasn't made with generative AI the way CDPR has positioned future projects to be made with it.
Oh, wow... Amazing news. I am so happy for all those The Witcher fans out there. ♥
Can't wait, thank you so much! One of the best games ever 🥰 Please try to find the time to also implement a PS5 Pro patch, The Witcher 3 would be even more beautiful on consoles with a proper upscaler like PSSR!
Time for roach to get back into shape, its time for a new adventure!
The Witcher 3 is getting a new expansion, Songs of the Past. This will be releasing more than a full decade after the Blood and Wine which came out in 2016. Would you support Bethesda restarting official development for any of the single player TES games to create new expansions for them?
GIVE ME MORROWIND DLC NO QOL UPDATES ONLY DLC
This isn't the only super late official content expansion for a game. Off the top of my head, and under the Bethesda umbrella even, is Doom II's Legacy of Rust that came out 30 years after the original release: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doom_II...
They have unpaid labor--I mean modders--to do that for them. Bethesda would never :P
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Songs of the past expansion has been officially announced for 2027. It's my favourite game of all time and I can't believe we're getting new content 12 years later! No theories as to what it's about but I can't wait to spend more time with Geralt 🐺⚔️
Thrilled!!!!! I know it must have a lot of Ciri in it, since it's meant as a transition to Witcher 4. 👀💙 Oh man oh man, can you imagine if we get to see her go to the Lynx school. EEEEE!
Just seen the announcement and after screaming a little bit and possibly doing a happy dance 🤣 I immediately came to see your reaction I'm absolutely fucking buzzing
I have a feeling it'll nicely bridge the gap between the ending of W3 and W4. 🤔
Wild, can't remember the last time a game has gotten new dlc so long after, it's like when they added 48 tracks to Mario Kart 8 lol. I hope it bridges right into 4
