Astros complete combined no-hitter, Alimber Santa seals it in MLB debut

Tatsuya Imai, Steven Okert and rookie Alimber Santa combined to no-hit the Texas Rangers, 9-0, with Santa retiring the final six batters to seal the game. Santa, 23, pitched two scoreless innings in his major-league debut and finished the Astros’ shutout. It was baseball’s first no-hitter of any kind since 2024, and Santa became the first pitcher since 1900 to be involved in a no-hitter during his major-league debut, a historically rare milestone.

Fun fact, you can actually say Alimber Santa is the first pitcher to take the mound in a no-hitter in his MLB debut. Bumpus Jones's was so long ago that it predates the pitcher's mound
