Notts County beat Salford City 3-0 at Wembley in the League Two play-off final, securing promotion to League One. Jodi Jones scored one of the goals as Notts County completed a decisive victory to claim the final promotion spot. The promotion returns Notts County to the third tier for next season and brings bigger broadcast and matchday revenue opportunities plus tougher competition.

Notts County were founder members of the Football League in 1888, relegated in 1893, so first won promotion in a 'test match' against Burnley in 1897 after finishing top of the second division. County first played in third tier in 1930 & are back there next season, having been non-league, 2019-23
