Weird Al post causes Bluesky 'Weird Al' topic to show unrelated Florida posts
A single post by "Weird Al" Yankovic saying he was in Florida caused the "Weird Al" topic on Bluesky to surface unrelated Florida posts instead of artist-related content. Clicking the "Weird Al" topic filled the feed with Florida-focused items, including weather notes, tourist photos, and a post titled "Boss Cat Puts On Sunglasses," rather than announcements like Yankovic's Bigger & Weirder 2026 Tour. The tagging quirk buries official updates and makes it harder to find artist news, highlighting fragile topic-matching that links location words to the wrong subject.
Weird Al made a post about being in Florida, so now if you click on "Weird Al" in Trending, you get a bunch of posts that are about Florida, not posts about Weird Al. That's it. I'm hiding the Trending feature. It never works.
yeah the Bluesky team knows that Trending needs a lot of work, rebuilding it is on their roadmap
I thought it was just me.
It used to work, but I noticed when Twitter's trending section changed, making it nearly unusable.... so did bluesky's I think BlueSky is just stealing Twitter's code, and that's why they call it, "vibe coding", cause it's just theft
Has the trending thing ever been good 😭 I've only tried it a couple times and never have I been pleased with it
Ditto. This happens way too often.
