Svengoolie hosts Rosemary's Baby on MeTV tonight

Svengoolie presented Roman Polanski's 1968 horror film Rosemary's Baby, starring Mia Farrow, John Cassavetes, and Ruth Gordon, on MeTV tonight. The film follows Rosemary Woodhouse as she becomes pregnant in Manhattan's Dakota building and grows convinced her neighbors belong to a Satanic cult. Krzysztof Komeda's dissonant, jazz-inflected score and Polanski's claustrophobic direction helped make the film a landmark of psychological horror. "Rosemary's Baby" is one of the most closely-adapted movies ever made, almost scene-for-scene and line-for line from Ira Levin's novel. This was Polanski's first American film,and Stephen King theorized that Polanski didn't realize he was ALLOWED to change anything. #Svengoolie

Great movie. Ira Levin has fared pretty well when it comes to adaptations. The Stepford Wives, Deathtrap, and especially Rosemary's Baby. Even the 1991 version of a Kiss Before Dying was good (albeit with some major changes)
