Hantavirus presser led by penile implant specialist Brian Christine
Dr. Brian Christine, a surgical urologist WHO performs penile implants, led a U.S. hantavirus briefing this week as part of the federal response. Christine has little formal public-health or infectious-disease training and does not have epidemiology credentials. He has promoted a YouTube series called "Erection Connection" and previously compared President Biden to Nazis, called COVID a government control scheme, and questioned vaccine effectiveness. The choice to put a clinician whose career centers on surgery rather than outbreak science at the podium raises concerns about whether outbreak communications and policy should be led by trained epidemiologists instead.
