FDA blocked publication of studies finding COVID and shingles vaccines safe
HHS confirmed this week that the Food and Drug Administration blocked the publication of several taxpayer-funded studies that found COVID-19 and shingles vaccines to be safe. Agency scientists analyzed millions of patient records in those studies and reported that serious vaccine-related adverse events were rare. HHS said the studies were completed and intended for peer-reviewed publication before FDA officials withheld them. Withholding the analyses raises concerns about transparency in federal vaccine oversight and could influence public trust and future vaccination policy.
