Two US service members missing in Morocco
Two U.S. service members are missing near the Cap Draa training area in southwestern Morocco during the annual African Lion exercises, U.S. Africa Command said Sunday. Africom said a search-and-rescue operation is underway and U.S. and Moroccan forces are coordinating the effort. Officials have not released the service members' names or the cause of the incident while teams continue recovery operations. The incident interrupts African Lion, a major multinational exercise that tests U.S.-Morocco interoperability and raises immediate safety and diplomatic questions for participating partners.
