Elections Alberta wins injunction to remove separatist group's posted voter list
Elections Alberta obtained a court injunction ordering the Republican Party of Alberta to pull down a publicly posted, searchable elector list that included personal information for about 2.9 million Alberta voters. The agency says the database originated from voter information provided to registered parties and has opened a formal investigation while Edmonton police assisted in serving the injunction at a Centurion Project event. Elections Alberta warned the exposure of voters' names, addresses and contact details creates significant privacy and election integrity risks ahead of upcoming provincial contests.
Wiiiiild *Elections Alberta gets court injunction for separatist group to pull down its searchable voter list *Court told the list was provided by Republican Party of Alberta, an upstart separatist party *Unauthorized use of voter list: Really, really illegal! www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...
Last year, Elections Alberta fined David Parker and his Take Back Alberta group $120k for not disclosing the activist group's finances. www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...
Lucky that we got notified about this breach by forever Canadian. A big thank you to @lukaszukab.bsky.social
From the reports I'm seeing David Parker shared this list in a way that was for all practical purposes publicly available. How many people now have copies?
And with that list they can fake petition signatures... so .... How do we know any of this is real now?
Man, that CBC page is a wild ride!
They might pull it down but they still have our names
“the Republican Party of Alberta was ordered not to share any electoral list with unauthorized users. The Republican Party of Alberta was not in court Thursday morning and has not responded to requests for comment.” #abpoli #ableg #cdnpoli www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...
The "Republican Party of Alberta" is a MAGA front.
Also: How did Parker manage to secure third party advertiser status for the "Centurion Project" when his TBA group has failed to comply with Elections Alberta financial disclosure orders?
Sign the petition to ask the GoC to do *something* about clear foreign interference. Would love to see even a small % of the energy going into better conditions for big business/PE corporate robber barons go into protecting Cdn sovereignty and the citizenship rights of at least 70% of Albertans.
Someone needs to go to jail.
So our information will remain in the hands of DP and the seppies???
They won't respond. They are crooks. This has to be handled extremely strongly. Federal officials should perhaps be stepping in right away.
