NYC opens Office of Deed Theft Prevention

Mayor Zohran Mamdani of New York City announced he is creating an Office of Deed Theft Prevention to crack down on people fraudulently take ownership of others’ homes. The news comes after a Brooklyn city councilman was among several people arrested at a protest against the crime this week.
