Russian investigators opened a terrorism case after a suspected Ukrainian drone attack overnight damaged an industrial facility in Nizhny Novgorod region, governor Gleb Nikitin said. Nikitin posted on Telegram that the "massive" unmanned aerial vehicle attack caused "significant damage" and that "more than 100 drones have been destroyed." The targeted facility was not named by officials, but Ukrainian media and local residents reported a large fire and explosions at the Kstovo oil refinery, home to the NORSI complex and described in regional reporting as one of Russia's largest. Regional authorities said they are taking measures to ensure fuel remains available at petrol stations following the strike. Russian and Ukrainian statements also referenced other recent cross-border strikes and Ukraine's efforts to conduct long-range attacks without relying on external satellite links, according to the reporting.
