South Carolina Senate race is a tossup, NYT poll finds

politicsOct 28, 202622481

A New York Times/Siena poll released Oct 26, 2026 finds South Carolina’s U.S. Senate race tied at 48 percent for Democrat Annie Andrews and 48 percent for Republican Darline Graham. The poll frames the contest as a tossup in a state described as heavily Republican and notes Graham is struggling to replicate the success of her late brother, long a GOP senator. Republicans are spending millions to try to hold the seat that the late GOP senator once occupied. Voters and local officials quoted in coverage say the closeness has energized reminders to vote; early voting in parts of South Carolina is open through Friday. The result makes the seat a key competitive pick-up opportunity for Democrats in a cycle where control of the Senate is contested.

South Carolina senate being more competitive than Florida is incredibly easy to understand if you arent in the political mindset of 10 years ago Darline is terrible and there’s been basically no good trends out of Florida for a long time. Even latinos reverting back to Clinton would still be a loss
