Pokémon UNITE to End Service March 23, 2027

gamingOct 27, 202619286

Pokémon UNITE announced it will end service at 00:00 UTC on March 23, 2027, triggering a wave of farewell posts and plans to squeeze final playtime in before shutdown. Nintendo and the developers will cut new purchases immediately and are rolling out a Library feature on November 12, 2026 so players can view certain records and in-game content before the servers close. Players are centering memories on moments with Zeraora and other signature Pokémon like Reshiram and Typhlosion, while some are specifically hoping to try playable Absol and Falinks before the end. Many posts mix nostalgia and frustration, with shoutouts to beloved teammates such as Comfey and jokes about the game having achieved its one big cultural moment around Zeraora.

well so much for it getting its own pro circuit. Was refreshing to see it supported for this long though

Now plan to shut it down?

To be fair...License Journey looked just like what sunk MultiVersus.

Funny how League of Legends is still going, and everyone hates it meanwhile this gets shut down while most people still like the game 💀 I was actually thinking of playing this game sometime, but nevermind

lol imagine one of the most well funded mega corporations being given the rights to the biggest ip on earth to make a game in a genre known to print ungodly amounts of money and still fumbling this hard. this will be a case study in text books someday.

Happy 30th anniversary of Pokémon everyone, we're shutting down our ok-ish MOBA and Pokémon Bank so we can push ROM ports of games despite us being the most profitable franchise in the world!

Remember guys, without Pokémon UNITE, it doesn't mean future Pokémon Presents will have 30 seconds more main series content, it means it'll be 30 seconds shorter.

Pokémon Unite shutting down isn't surprising at all, but it still makes me really sad because I enjoyed it quite a lot back then... u.u It was the top-down MOBA I enjoyed the most, but so many small things eroded my enjoyment long term...

pokemon unite end of service feels both not shocking at all and also incredibly surprising that they let "Pokemon MOBA" flop so hard

pokemon unite accomplished its original mission of making more people down bad for zeraora when it came out so now that that has been accomplished i guess it can give itself unto oblivion

pokemon unite actually had a great concept of a short time-gated moba with fun gameplay shame that all the bad decisions throughout its life led to its EOS next year. at least i got to play reshiram and typhlosion lol
