Report: Ken Paxton blind trust invested $600,000 in convicted fraudster’s company
"Lord, we pray that you lift up Ken Paxton, a serial adulterer who constantly bears false witness, covets material things-- like houses--and disgraces your holy name with his shameless corruption, so that we may continue not to pay taxes and hate all the same people he does. Glory!"
The hands on thing is suuuuppppeeeerrr creepy
Really tired of these evangelical morons putting on their little shows for the cameras. Pretty amazing how tolerant these intolerant slimes are when it suits their interests.
They are horrible people who don’t understand why church attendance is way down.
I thought it was a family intervention.
What's with this trend where everyone in the clergy has to fucking touch you in order for their prayers to work..Quit touching ppl freaks
Dear Ms Bowers: You sure know how to verbally make the hammer meet the nail head. Thank you.
By rights he should start smoking then catch fire
Yeah that about sums it up.
Yet some idiots still believe this sham! bsky.app/profile/mrsb...
Anyone or any country that has access should release the Epstein files in full, only REDACTING the victims (children who were sexually assaulted) and leaving the perpetrators UNREDACTED. Everyone needs to know the names of the scum. Prayers for the release of Epstein files?
NEW: “In Texas, we fight fraud head-on,” Ken Paxton said last year. Yet records show his trust gave $600K to a convicted fraudster’s new company in 2020, which later wired the trust tens of thousands of dollars before and during his 2023 impeachment. with @texastribune.org
And Texas ranks near the top on total amount of fraud.
Republicans don’t care about corruption. They have no moral compass or integrity so they think “that’s what I would do” and “so would everyone else”. Their ethical failings are projected onto everyone else.
So many fellow Texans are giving his wife & Texas State Senator, Angela Paxton, a hall pass. She helped build the Paxton family regime - from his get-away-driver running from the law, to their shady deals. She helped curate the 15 houses. She's not a victim. She Bonnie Paxton.
Oh please. He stole a $1000 pen.
That’s rich coming from this POS.
When you gaslight, go big, go very, very big.
ProPublica: Ken Paxton says he's tough on crime. His trust invested $600,000 in a convicted fraudster's company. "The blind trust's investment in Wildcatter offers a new, unreported look at the attorney general's financial ties with … executives whose prosecutions he typically celebrates."
Tough on crime? Like accepting a plea deal for which a brutal child rapist served one day in jail and didn't have to register as a sex offender? That tough?
$600,000 found its way to a convicted fraudster, and the defense is that the trust was blind. Funny how that blindness never keeps the money from landing right next to his friends.
I think it's worth noting that when Republicans say they're "tough on crime" they mean Black and Brown people, not crime.
The only interest Republicans have in fraud is more opportunities to participate.
Thank you @jeisinger.bsky.social and team!
New: Ken and Angela Paxton invested $600,000 in a convicted fraudster’s business With @propublica.org:
As corrupt as it gets
You see this kind of blatant corruption and wonder how a political party would welcome someone like that as a member let alone make him a candidate for the US Senate. Happening all over the country. Being Republican = being corrupt. It's why I voted straight party ticket this year, first time ever.
a blind trust. blind. $600,000 finds the one convicted fraudster in texas and the trust just happens to trip over him
It's October, but I ain't surprised
fraud is so easy. pinky promise yall.
Good look at the Paxtons' investment in a construction firm run by a convicted fraudster. One tidbit, not reported in the piece, is that another Wildcatter exec was John O'Shea, who Ken endorsed in his failed '24 congressional primary against Craig Goldman. bsky.app/profile/texa...
Where did #KenPaxton and #AngelaPaxton get a discretionary $600,000 to invest as qualified investors in a private market transactions on state government salaries ? Isn’t $600,000 the equivalent of 3-4 years of their combined income as government officials ? #FollowTheMoney
He’s spent $158 million pushing Ken Paxton on Texas,; and we’re all still waiting for one single post about Paxton’s positive virtues.
Maybe the missing virtues are the pitch. A candidate with nothing to recommend him owes everything to the buyer. $158M does not buy admiration for Paxton. It buys a guy who can never afford to say no to Musk.
Why are people still buying teslas is beyond me
Elon is as evil as they come. He has shown himself and needs to be cut off from our government.
There aren’t any. Elon doesn’t have any either. So he’s strung out on Ketamine and posting through it.
Yet another reason to have a wealth cap.
Paxton tests "positive" for corruption.
