James Talarico targets Elon Musk at Texas rally: 'Texas is not for sale'

politicsOct 24, 202665251

At a University of Texas at Austin rally James Talarico accused Elon Musk of trying to buy political influence and declared, "Texas is not for sale." Talarico said Musk is "almost single-handedly bankrolling" an effort to install Ken Paxton in the US Senate, calling Paxton "the most corrupt politician in the state's history" and saying Paxton has a criminal record while Talarico has a legislative one. Talarico cited federal filings showing Musk gave $158 million to the Senate Leadership Fund, which transferred the same amount to Texas PAC, and said super PACs and billionaire donors are spending about $200 million in the race. Talarico contrasted that outside spending with his campaign fundraising, saying his campaign raised $64 million from July through September with 97% of donations under $100. The rally drew hundreds of students and supporters to his alma mater and set the stage for the November 3 election that will decide control of the Senate in a closely watched Texas contest.

unless there is something in the data that's worrying this is just bedwetting

Dr Michigan Christie3

My gut says you are right. Rogers is just not a great candidate. He didn’t beat Slotkin, and the wind is no longer at his back.

I mean presumably the Muslim leftist is closer here.

Dude has dropped HALF A BILLION DOLLARS...most of it on a single senate race in Texas. If that doesn't make you question his sanity and his integrity than I don't know what will.

MUSK spent the most money so far in the Texas Senate race, boosting Republican Ken Paxton, attacking Democrat James Talarico, and spending millions for the Republican Senate candidates in Ohio & Michigan. The spending is happening through his “America PAC.” He has 13 children and yet he does this.
