Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave Wave 1 review finds modest Three Houses‑inspired additions
[girl who unironically enjoyed the dungeons in SoV voice] i'm so glad fortune's weave has dungeons
unironically wish there was a super endgame one like sov had
I’ve not played SOV but I really like the dungeon mechanic too! Definitely helps to add to that feeling of exploring the lands of Dagda more thoroughly.
Hell yeah, dungeons in sov were so fun. It’s great to see them back
this is purely a personal taste thing but i think the amount of shit to do outside of tactics battles in fortune’s weave is mostly to the game’s benefit. i find tactics battles mentally taxing enough that i don’t want to do them any more than the game asks you to
i am sorry to the true tactics heads who feel betrayed by the direction that modern FE is going in but i am simply not one of you
I think it's a little too easy to realize you've been planning out gifts for six hours and forgot to actually do any fighting but yes a balance is possible
I am a bone deep enjoyer of SRPGs from the age of 4 years old but every time they do something like this to FE I hoot and holler. I think it's good that they flesh this stuff out a bit and take inspo from other types of game! They give themselves more tools to create different kinds of experience
I can tell how far the general public is in Fortune's Weave based on which guides are getting more views than others. Today the "How to Recruit Creek" guide, a Part 2 thing, has finally gotten much more daily views than the Part 1 recruitment guide
Who knows, maybe one day the Part 3 guides will get views too
One big upside to living with someone who's in hyperfixation mode on the game: By the time I get to the point of needing advice, she's *right there*. (Probably watching me play. Because she enjoys that, too.)
I'll stop when I feel like it, mom!!
