Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim’s three-hour documentary You Can See Everything opened in theaters and portrays Elizabeth Holmes as a baffling figure whom even Fielder leaves unsure is a master manipulator or genuinely delusional. Reporter John Carreyrou, who broke the Theranos story, says Holmes lies in several filmed moments, citing her claimed unfamiliarity with the Abbott and Costello routine and a tearful photo-shoot breakdown that Carreyrou contrasts with her many public appearances; he also posted that he loved the film. New York Times reporter Amy Chozick says the documentary uses a 2023 Times quote about Holmes creating a character, which Holmes disputes; Holmes’ partner Billy Evans provided an 80-second clip to challenge Chozick, while Chozick says the full exchange occurred off the record and was recorded in her notebook. Whistleblower Tyler Shultz wrote that the device Holmes shows on her kitchen table in the film is an unfinished prototype rather than the Theranos machine used by the company and that the modest beach house shown was staged while Holmes had been living in a much larger estate. The film has prompted additional insider testimonies and reporter rebuttals that challenge specific scenes and sourcing decisions in the documentary.
