Bird of the Day, theme 'Black & White'

Today's Bird of the Day is the Black & White theme, asking for any bird with black and white plumage, with an alternate Colourful theme for birds showing three or more colours. Gallery entries include shorebirds and seabirds, passerines, and striking waders, often shown in coastal or reserve settings. Specific posts feature an Oystercatcher on a sunlit beach, a Pied Kingfisher photographed in Chobe National Park, Botswana, and a Pied Avocet at El Hondo, alongside Pied Wagtails, a Magpie in flight, a Razorbill, a guillemot with chick, Sandwich Terns at Cemlyn Bay, and an Australian Pelican. Look for high-contrast plumage, up-curved avocet bills and blue legs, and gannets that add yellow heads while still fitting the Black & White prompt.
