Thinktank says Britain should rejoin EU to handle geopolitical crises
There's a no-joke outside chance that the UK ends up joining the US due to its internal dysfunction (and EU internal dysfunction) repeatedly fucking up EU rejoin efforts and the US being the only country large enough and culturally close enough to realistically handle annexing them.
FWIW I think Canadians are obviously better off independent and trying to create a Schengen Zone with other liberal democracies (including the US). You guys are just too different on a lot of important everyday things for it to work out for either side, even under ideal hypothetical circumstances.
Why would you speak this into existence?
More or less than Canada 51st state? This is an r/unpopularopinion especially because ELBOWSUP but I have to deal with Quebec nationalism and I’d rather be a U.S. state than a sovereign Quebec 😭
Man I know this is the pot calling the kettle black but given how their politics are going I think that would not be a net positive for the US.
Lol, I've been following an alternate history project that predicted that exact cause and effect for the past decade. It's funny to hear others treat it seriously.
I'm okay with them rejoining the EU, but we (as in Greece) should put a veto until they agree to give back the Parthenon Marbles.
