A would-be Reform UK MP told an undercover ITV reporter that Muslims "could not be British" and said asylum seekers crossing the Channel should be put in "concentration camps", footage the Guardian says was recorded for an ITV investigation due to be broadcast on Sunday. The same ITV excerpts include other Reform figures calling black children "animals" and saying an area had become "infested" with Asian families. Reform UK said it had opened investigations where activists or members had "clearly behaved inappropriately" and that "there is no room for racism" in the party, while also defending its vetting as improved. Nigel Farage said you cannot vet people for what they might say in the future. Labour chair Bridget Phillipson said Farage was "completely unfit to lead" and accused him of sharing culpability for the party culture. The investigation has already prompted resignations, including Solihull and Birmingham councillor Alan Feeney, who apologized after footage showed him making racist remarks and calling for tight limits on non-white population share.
