Bird of the Day, theme 'Dawn'

Today's Bird of the Day is a daily community event with the theme #Dawn, inviting submissions of birds captured at sunrise, with #Dusk offered as an alternative. The gallery today emphasizes early light and atmosphere, from silhouetted and backlit compositions to misty, golden-hour scenes and quiet pre-dawn behaviour. Standout posts include a silhouette of a cormorant perched in a pine at dawn, an egret wading in mist reflecting the rising sun, and Sandhill Cranes flying to roost at dusk as the alternate theme. Look for teal flybys over lakes, a Yellowhammer in first rays, and a Great Crested Grebe glowing in early morning light; tag your posts #BirdOfTheDay and #Dawn to join in.
