Healey says Heathrow expansion would drive growth
It’s never gonna happen and the sooner we accept that we can stop hobbling Gatwick’s expansion because it might not compete with Heathrow’s mythical third runway:
Also, non-ironically, when you factor in “oh, the M25 is really very close to Heathrow, isn’t it?” really could just have an intra-airport transport connection instead.
It’s long baffled me that “hey, let’s just put a runway where the M25 is” turned into a plan that wasn’t permanently eyebrow-raised out of the room on day one.
it doesn't say anywhere in the rules that you can't build heathrow's third runway at gatwick
South 👏 London 👏 Exists (Apart from for Stansted, that’s simply not an option.)
A third runway at Heathrow affects up to three million people with increased noise pollution. The number for a second runaway at Gatwick would be in the tens of thousands.
if i were the government, i would simply make gatwick not an endless procession of tunnels
Mr Healey - you are an ignorant, short-sighted, fool Have you taken any time to look around you - to see and understand what is happening to our world? There is NO growth on a dying planet www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
For decades the mantra of growth has always been synonymous with job creation but with the advent of AI it has lost that connection and just translates into, 'billionaires can get even richer.'
Infinite grown, expansion and profit is impossible on a finite planet - which is the one we are on.
