Rep. Ilhan Omar's lawyers say home search ignored judge's restrictions
“The letter states Omar and her lawyers weren’t given a copy of the warrant prior to the search, as had been required by the judge. It says she made numerous efforts to contact counsel at the start of the search, but the agents prevented her from doing so for more than an hour.”
Lawless criminals, the lot of ‘em.
…and not a fucking peep from Dem leadership. AIPAC is loving this. Schumer and Jeffries should be run the fuck out of the party.
do they care that they violated her rights? No of course not. By the time this gets litigated the midterms will be long over. As long as Miller gets to drag Omar's name through the dirt now the damage is done
This better get thrown out of court because she is a US citizen and she gets due process.
Since the entire purpose was harassment and humiliation, they really didn't give a shit about doing things that might invalidate the search -- which they knew wouldn't produce any evidence anyway. Pure, unadulterated, police state fascism.
AG Blanche is breaking the law to release the Epstein files. He will punish, maim, and torture people to avoid releasing the Epstein files. @hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social should be loudly defending her like he defended riding around with Kushner on his fancy jet.
anyone have a gift link?
“… the search was conducted in a manner that didn’t follow the authorizing magistrate’s specific instructions, including that the U.S. House’s general counsel was to be notified ahead of the search warrant’s execution.”
We cannot let this happen to anyone in our country
They’re used to pulling this shit with people who either don’t know their rights or who have no access to the national media and can be easily disappeared. Ilhan is going to wipe the floor with them.
A bunch of people are about to reach the FO stage of FAFO…
of course they didn't have a warrant. when do they ever follow the rules dawg
that this search was ever approved is fucking disgraceful for every single person involved
The silence of key members of the Democratic party on this is deafening.
Ooooh boy did they f*ck up!
Of course, it couldn't be above board. There's always some bs.
"Under Trump, the Public Integrity Section has been gutted, with scores of experienced prosecutors being pushed out or fired. Only a small number of attorneys remains in the division, and they've largely been cut out of sensitive political investigations..." www.washingtonpost.com/politics/202...
How in the fuck is anybody still seriously talking about “norms”
The statute of limitations ran out 16 years ago even if you did find something her Dad messed up on the forms…
Those DOJ norms went by the wayside in 2016 when Comey made his public announcement 11 days before the election about Hillary Clinton...
“Norms & ethics” no longer exist. Feels like laws & the Constitution don’t either.
I had once supposed that justice required independence from political influence. I now discover that certain gentlemen prefer a justice so obedient that it knows precisely whom to investigate and whom to leave undisturbed.
It seems the word “Integrity” needs to be removed under the current administration.
I guess they figure that since there is no public integrity in this administration, there’s no need for a public integrity division.
Honored to know someone who quit Public Integrity in 2025 over the Eric Adams disgrace.
And, probably, the 4th amendment but that's been watered down to almost meaninglessness by successive generations of Supreme Court decisions.
Where Is the Outrage Over Trump’s Racist Targeting of Ilhan Omar? thenationmagazine.substack.com/p/where-is-t...
Not razzing you at all, but sometimes I feel like“where is the outrage” style writing ignores the outrage clearly visible, for example in this piece e in today’s NYT. (Gift link) www.nytimes.com/2026/10/16/o...
There's a meme going around that points out that Ilhan has been a US citizen six years longer than Melania has.
The monkeys have learned that if you stick your head up it gets cut off.
