Bird of the Day, theme 'JKLM'

Bird of the Day is a daily community event; today's main theme is JKLM, bird species starting with J, K, L, or M, with an alternate theme of Grey, birds that show grey in their plumage. The gallery today is heavy on field and wildlife photography showing side profiles, in-flight shots, and close-ups of small songbirds and larger waders and raptors. Expect Kingfisher images including a kingfisher shot at Magor Marsh, a Little Grebe from Clot Del Galvany, a sandhill crane coming in for a landing, and playful entries like an excited Killdeer. Other named contributions include kestrels, a Gray Kingbird, a Red Kite, linnet, limpkin, mallard frenzy, and various grey-plumaged herons and shrikes.

I have always thought pigeons were very pretty. When I was a kid the older boy across the street, I was in elementary school he was in high school I think, kept a bunch of different pigeons in his backyard, always enjoyed the variety.
