sportsOct 14, 20262155

Ivar Stenberg scored his first NHL goal for the San Jose Sharks, tipping a Macklin Celebrini pass past Jeremy Swayman while Nikita Zadorov sat in the penalty box to tie the game 2-2. The goal came on the power play and prompted Stenberg to look to the sky in celebration. Stenberg is the second overall pick in the 2026 NHL Draft and the second player from that draft class to score, after Gavin McKenna. Entering the game, Stenberg has three points in six NHL games; the sixth game was still in progress at the time of the report. The goal tied the game at a critical moment and gave the Sharks a momentum lift during the second-period power play.
