At New York Comic Con Nicolas Cage said he refused to sign an AI authorization for Prime Video’s Spider-Noir and that he is "probably not" going to work with Amazon again. Cage told the panel that "Amazon is a very AI-friendly company, to the tune of $50 billion" invested in OpenAI and added "I am not an AI-friendly actor" when explaining why he did not sign the waiver. Amazon canceled Spider-Noir last month after one season, despite 11 Emmy nominations and 2.6 billion minutes viewed in the first six weeks. Cage also said his next project will be a season of True Detective, joking that his agent was in the audience, and HBO had not responded to requests for comment. He said he wants to work with Gen Z directors and named Kane Parsons as an example.
