Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen launches on Switch 2

gamingOct 9, 2026722,524

Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen landed on Switch 2 today, and players are celebrating a smoother, harder, and more polished take that many say fixes performance and difficulty issues. Creators are centering on Arisens and their Pawns, people are sharing scenes of a comically sassy pawn named Ray, Menella and Nadinia beastren art, and fresh portraits of players' custom protagonists ready for Norgan. Posters also greeted the expansion as a homecoming for Hyde and revelled in old-school dungeon crawls that required multiple camping stops, while others noted the release landed on international lesbian day and leaned into that coincidence in their tributes.

It just occured to me that Dragon's Dogma 2 and STALKER 2 have both effectively re-launched this year in the state that they should have been when they originally released. Both great open-world sandboxes now.

did they fix the performance? DD2 on launch was lovely until you went into a city, and iirc their first fix for it was fog, pop-in and hideous LOD

So, uh, looking through the "Great on Machine" tab on the ol Steam Machine and apparently at some point not only did I buy Dragon's Dogma II but I also played 2 hours of it? I have no recollection of any of this. Was I possessed? Do I need to be exorcised? Help.

I think you contracted the Dogma Plague. Side effects are temporary loss of memory and money.

See the positive Mat. It's not MLB the show!

The best part of DD2 is that I made Ray my pawn and hes comically sassy and mean to me. Its honestly hilarious. Then my friends hire him and he gets to bully them too!! [ #splatoon #splatoonoc #dragonsdogma #DD2 ]

I can’t believe I have to say this but can we please stop getting so many banger games this year? I’m still on Fortunes Weave, The Dark Arisen Expansion for Dragons Dogma II releases today and we get Final Fantasy Resonance in 2 weeks. I don’t have so much time 😭

it's kind of crazy how dragon's dogma, as a franchise, is allowed to do themes to the extent it does. everything I'm hearing about dark arisen 2 is confirming that it's written as a follow-up to dark arisen rather than trying to understand it as The Second Half of Dragon's Dogma 1, which is great

video 1 is a walking tour of the version of Dragon's Dogma 2 available in the week before the release of Dark Arisen. it is effectively a Goodbye to the flawed but fascinating original dragon's dogma 2. video 2 is about BOTH dark arisens and is more about why i personally love the series so much.

I bought it but haven’t played it yet. How does it compare to the first game? Loved the combat and the mysterious world so much. Though some NPCs were a bit… odd.

Love you Logan love your excellent taste
