Ken Urker was found unresponsive at a residence in Raceland, Louisiana, on Thursday evening, his 34th birthday, after police responded to a call at 6:15 p.m., the Lafourche Sheriff’s Office confirmed to CNN. Authorities have opened a death investigation, and TMZ reported that foul play has not yet been ruled out. Gypsy Rose Blanchard told People she believes Urker overdosed and asked for privacy, saying "I’m in disbelief. I can’t think" and that she had "screamed until my throat burns." Blanchard met Urker while she was serving eight and a half years in prison for her role in the 2015 killing of her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard, who investigators have described as a victim of Munchausen syndrome by proxy. The couple rekindled their relationship after Blanchard’s 2023 release; they welcomed a daughter, Aurora, at the end of 2024. Urker had previously become engaged to Blanchard while she was incarcerated, split months later, and Blanchard later married and separated from Ryan Anderson in 2022 and 2023 respectively before reuniting with Urker.
